Requirements

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The current ordinance requires candidates to possess a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.

OR

• The candidate must possess a minimum of 64 college credits combined with two (2) full years of military experience or full time regular police experience.

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidates must be between the ages of 18 & 34, and must be capable of performing all of the duties of a Toms River Police Officer.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Background Investigation
• Urine Testing/Drug Screen
• Psychiatric & Psychological Evaluation
• Medical & Treadmill Stress Test
• Approval of the Township Committee
• Completion of the Police Academy or Possession of a Current and Valid PTC
• Completion of a One Year Probationary Period
