We would like to congratulate Deputy Chief Patrick Dellane on his promotion!

Deputy Chief Patrick Dellane is a lifelong resident of Toms River. He graduated from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey with a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. He subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a Certified Public Manager and a NJSACOP Accredited Command Executive.

In 1995, Deputy Chief Dellane was hired as a Patrol Officer with the Toms River Police Department. He served as a Field Training Officer and was assigned to the Emergency Services Unit as a chemical munitions instructor before being assigned to the K9 Unit with his partner, Clancy.  Deputy Chief Dellane was promoted to Sergeant in 2009 and served as a squad sergeant on all three shifts, and as an Emergency Services Unit (ESU) supervisor before being assigned to the Professional Standards Bureau as the Training Sergeant.

Promoted to Lieutenant in 2015, Deputy Chief Dellane worked in the Community Affairs and Professional Standards divisions. In 2019, he graduated from the 275th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico Virginia. He was promoted to Captain in 2021and is currently assigned as the Commander of the Operations Bureau.

Throughout his tenure, Deputy Chief Dellane has commanded the Administrative, Criminal Investigations Bureau, and the Operations Bureau of the Toms River Police along with serving in various positions with Toms River FOP #156.

Captain Dellane would like to thank his wife Patty and son Patrick for their love and support.
