Detective Patrick Jacques, a graduate of the Union County Police Academy Class 76, began his law enforcement career as a police officer in Dunellen in 1997. He joined the Toms River Police Department in 2001.
In 2003 Detective Jacques became a member of the department’s Emergency Services Unit (ESU). During his career, he served as a Field Training Officer, and a member of the Police Athletic League (PAL), assisting in the basketball Clinique. In 2013, Detective Jacques was promoted to Detective, he was one of the first members of the department’s Special Enforcement Team (SET), and in 2021 became a Senior Detective in the Bureau.
Throughout Detective Jacques’ career, he received multiple Merit Awards, a Life-Saving Award, a Class B Award, and the Monmouth – Ocean County Intelligence Bureau Walter C. Witt President Award.
