Mission Statement

“To aid police officers and their families. To purchase equipment and training to assist the department in carrying out its mission. To contribute to programs for youth to keep them away from crime. To make funding available to eligible scholarship programs.”

The Toms River Police Foundation (TRPF) was formed under the direction of former Chief of Police Michael G. Mastronardy in cooperation with local community leaders. The foundation, which is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established to enhance police training, provide funding for equipment, and to provide various scholarship programs to benefit the children of Toms River.

The TRPF is administered by a volunteer Board of Directors which is comprised of local community leaders and Chief of Police Mitchell A. Little. The Board of Directors is responsible for oversight of TRPF business including fundraising, budgeting, and the distribution of funds for causes that fall within the mission statement of the foundation. The TRPF is primarily funded by monetary donations from businesses, organizations and individuals. In addition to accepting donations from outside sources, the foundation has entered into a contract with American Recycle Technology Inc. to deploy clothing bins at key locations throughout the township. This additional source of funding allows the TRPF to continue funding its mission.
