As a professional organization, the Toms River Police Department aspires to employ established “best practices” protocol in the operation of the agency.

The New Jersey State Chiefs of Police accreditation program provides the framework for police agencies to develop and implement policies that meet established standards. The program requires policy review and on-site inspection by the NJSACOP in order to verify adherence to the standards. As a participating member in the program, the Toms River Police Department has achieved NJSACOP accreditation in 2007, 2013, and 2016.

We are currently working toward a renewal of our accreditation in 2025.  All inquiries regarding accreditation may be directed to Public Service Aide Sam Seaman sseaman@trpolice.org
