Police reports are obtained through the Records Division of the Police Department. Due to privacy rights, the Records Division does not release information regarding police reports over the telephone. A copy of a report may be obtained in person and upon proof of proper identification, through email or written request through regular mail.
Police reports generated and prepared by patrol officers are subjected to a review and approval process. This process may delay the release of the report. We recommend allowing 3 business days before attempting to retrieve a report in person. Copies of certain reports may be obtained via email. Email the request to PoliceRecords@trpolice.org along with a copy of your Driver’s License. A copy of a report may also be obtained via mail, upon receipt of a written request, accompanied with a $5.00 fee, payable to “Toms River Township” and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Such requests are usually processed within a few days of their receipt. Written requests should be directed to:
