Dan Mackin began serving this community in 1974 with the Pleasant Plains First Aid achieving the rank of Captain. He has served the Toms River Police Department for over 25 years since 1997 as a volunteer Auxiliary Police Officer, and eventually ran the unit as a Captain. In 2007 he became the first OEM CERT member in Toms River.
Officer Mackin is most recently noted for his tenure in Toms River Town Hall as a Special Law Enforcement Officer Class I since 2009. Always greeting you with a smile, and making sure you got to your destination, Officer Mackin took great pride protecting everyone in the building.
