Sergeant Richard Buhowski #356
Sergeant Richard Buhowski grew up in Middletown NJ and graduated from Middletown High School North. He later attended Brookdale Community College where he received an Associates Degree, majoring in Criminal Justice.
In March of 2000, Sergeant Buhowski began his law enforcement career when he attended the New York City Police Academy, and in January of 2007 he was promoted to Sergeant. Sergeant Buhowski attended the Essex County Police Academy in September of 2007 and joined New Jersey Transit. He worked a there prior to joining the Toms River Police Department on June 10, 2008.
In January of 2013, Sergeant Buhowski was assigned to the K9 Unit with his first partner K9 Gunnar, and in 2020 met his second K9 partner Kylo. He has proudly served as a member of the Toms River Police Department Emergency Services Unit for the last six years.
Sergeant Buhowski lives in Toms River with his wife Jillian and their two children, Emily age (10) and Luke age (5).
